Practical teaching solutions for working with different behaviours and developmental needs
what is this?
Hungry Teachers is a learning platform for teachers. Our specialists help you teach all kinds of children and teenagers — especially those who find it hard to learn, follow rules and regulate their emotions. In those moments, things get hard for the teacher too. We know how to overcome these barriers with care and professionalism.
Uncomfortable Learning
21 November – 5 December An online course on how to teach children who are struggling and need special attention
of Russian teachers can handle challenging behaviour in the moment, but don’t know how to make their work with these children systematic
The problem is not the child
Behaviour is not a whim or sabotage. Most often, it is a child’s way of coping with overload, anxiety and an environment that feels unsafe to them. When a classroom lacks the conditions that help children regulate themselves, tension builds up in everyone — children and adults alike.
Our approach holds that the problem is not the person, but the conditions, a lack of information or insufficient knowledge. Which means the problem can — and should — be worked on.
Who we help
The confused
Things have got hard in the classroom and the usual methods no longer work. You want to understand what is happening and what to do next.
The exhausted
Too much tension, too little support. You want to spend less time surviving and feel more grounded in your work.
The searching
You understand that kindness alone is not enough. You need clear algorithms and a structured language for difficult cases.
The doubting
The thought "I'm doing something wrong" keeps coming back. You need guidance and reassurance that difficulties are not failure.
The responsible
You want to help every child in your class, including those who struggle the most. You want to find ethical solutions that work.
Those left alone with the problem
There is no team or support at your school. You need specialists to discuss difficult cases with — without being judged.

How we train teachers
Evidence-based approach
We rely on research — we don’t read tea leaves or draw up birth charts (though we respect everyone’s choices).
Ethics and safety
We draw on real cases from our work, so we take confidentiality seriously and follow a code of ethics when handling each child’s or family’s case.
Attention to quality
We work with people who never stop learning. They always have lots of questions and the drive to find answers — in sources, in experience, among colleagues.
Practical experience
All our specialists have experience working with real children (for many years). Our course leaders know how to build rapport, give feedback and help you move towards your goal.
Solving real cases
We only invite people who work with children "in the field". We respect those who work in theory and use research data in practice, but our priority is working with practitioners.
Learn at your own pace
We know how busy our colleagues are, so we design courses that answer real, current questions and that you can take at your own rhythm — without sacrificing working hours or rest.

Questions and answers
We focus on teachers working in schools of every kind — primary, middle or secondary. Sometimes parents who set up a learning space for their children find us too, and they’re very welcome. We also train school teaching teams and school leadership.
Yes. We work with adults who teach children one-to-one and in groups, online and in person.
At the moment, we work with ADHD, autism (ASD), trauma, anxiety, adjusting to change, emigration and complex family situations. We never stop learning, so our knowledge and practice keep growing.
We believe that difficult situations in the classroom are caused not by children, but by their experiences, their environment, their relationships with different adults and gaps in teachers' knowledge. It matters to us to remove the label from those who need help — children, parents and teachers.
Many situations in schools are unique, because every person is unique. We build our courses around the experience of the teachers who come to learn with us — which is why our live courses don’t run very often. At the same time, we believe that general knowledge about children’s needs can be applied in any classroom. That’s why our recorded courses are available at any time.
We see teachers become calmer: they gain practical tools, and their professional lens shifts towards children’s needs and individual differences.
When designing our courses, we rely on ethical standards and professional teaching competencies. We draw on the framework of developmental psychology, international research on learning and well-documented tools. Our expertise lies in school education. Our team also includes helping professionals: if a teacher feels they need psychological support, our specialists provide it on request.
Our techniques, methods and approaches can be used wherever there are children who need support and care.
